Sustainability
GAC wants to do well, and to do good wherever we can to make the world better, safer, cleaner and greener.
#GACcares – GAC Sustainability
“Adapt, innovate and reduce” is GAC’s response to the sustainability challenges facing us all. GAC wants to do well, and to do good wherever we can to make the world better, safer, cleaner and greener.
That philosophy is at the heart of our commitment to sustainability, reflected in the GAC Spirit as well as our Group Ethics, Compliance, and Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) policies.
GAC’s Roadmap to Sustainability outlines the Group’s commitment to “adapt, innovate and reduce” in its activities and engage stakeholders to create non-destructive, long-term value towards a sustainable future. Their economic, environmental, and social impact is evaluated, initiatives implemented as appropriate, and the effect of those actions assessed for alignment with our focus and progress towards our sustainability goals.
UN Sustainable Development Goals
Our aim is to make real positive change in ourselves, while supporting and influencing change in others. Our goals are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and cover three main areas of impact, namely economic, environmental and social.
While all of the UN Sustainable Development Goals are important to us and our stakeholders, GAC is focusing on 6 areas where we can make the most positive impact in cooperation with our stakeholders. These are:
- SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being
- SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth
- SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities
- SDG 13 – Climate Action
- SDG 14 – Life Below Water
- SDG 17 – Partnership for the Goals
In 2024, GAC earns the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) credential and verified compliance report following a detailed due diligence review by Ethixbase360, a global leader in third party risk management. The independent ESG certification is confirmation of the Group’s commitment to compliance in all areas.
